G5245T, G5246T, G5248T Double Jet w/ Bigsby

With its chambered mahogany body with set-in mahogany neck, dual Gretsch mini-humbuckers, and Bigsby® B50 Vibrato tailpiece, the Double Jet definitely breaks the sound barrier! Other features include a rosewood fingerboard, anchored Adjusto-matic™ bridge, volume and tone controls, and die cast tuners. Finished in gloss walnut stain with your choice of solid black, gold or silver sparkle top.

The Gretsch Electromatic Double Jet is a six string semi-hollow body electric guitar made for the intermediate to professional guitarist. It features a double cutaway design (the 2 'C' shapes where the body and the neck meet) along with a cambered body. The chambers offer more resonance and tone that would otherwise be present in a solid body.

I find the chambered body and the mini-humbuckers are a couple of things that really make this guitar stand out. The amount of resonance is increase with areas of the body carved out. This doesn't however make guitar very much lighter. It’s somewhat heavy in weight.

The body of the guitar is made of Mahogany with an arched laminated Maple top. It's available in Black, Gold, Sparkle, and Silver Sparkle top finishes with Walnut stained sides and back. The top of the guitar is bound with a cream colored binding. The pickguard is White Pearloid with the Gretsch Logo. The bridge is an Adjusto- Matic TM Bridge with a Bigsby B50 vibrato tailpiece that sounds very smooth and even. You'll notice this more when you bend more than one string at a time. The Bigsby takes a little getting used to especially if you're used to Floyd Rose types of tremolos.

The 24.6" scale length neck is set in to the body and allows full access to the upper notes of the neck. The neck also is made of Mahogany and is painted (not natural) with a rosewood fretboard and 22 frets. The Machine heads are vintage style die-cast tuners that are chrome plated. All the hardware on this guitar is chrome plated. One of the more unique features is the Neo Classic thumbnail inlay markers and matching painted headstock.

The electronics are simple with a single volume and a single tone control knob and a 3-way pickup selector. The pickup selector is in the standard configuration: Bridge, Bridge + Neck, and Neck. The pickups are Mini-Humbuckers and have a full tone.
